    Did you miss the Homeowner Lawn Care program? Do you have questions about lawn care? Are you interested in learning about lawn care from a science based approach? Do some of these questions keep you up at night: How much fertilizer does my lawn need?  When should I be applying? Do I need lime?  How much do I need to be watering?  Should I have my soil tested?  How do I test my soil?

    The office is closed today, in accordance with the University observing the Juneteeth national holiday.  We will return to the office on Monday, please reach out to us then for assistance.  

     
  4. New Hours - Open at 8

    We are now open at 8!  We are now open Monday-Friday from 8-4:30.

    This will now allow us to close the office from 12-12:30 so that staff can take a lunch break and get caught up on the day. 

    We do have a dropbox to the left of our front door, so if you need to drop something off and we are closed, please use the dropbox.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at 937-372-9971.

     

  5. 2021 Pre-fair Judging Sign-up Now Open

    Pre-fair judging will be held on June 30 and July 1.  Youth must sign-up/register for the time slot based on the judge.  All information is on our website at  https://greene.osu.edu/program-areas/4-h-youth-development/project-judging-and-skill-thons

    The deadline to sign up is Sunday, June 27.

    Poison Hemlock and Wild Parsnip are Bolting and Blooming

    Poison hemlock (Conium maculatum) is one of the deadliest plants in North America.  Wild parsnip (Pastinaca sativa) sap can produce severe, painful skin blistering.  Both are commonly found growing together in Ohio and both are beginning to “bolt” and bloom meaning the clock is quickly winding down for controlling these non-native nasties.

  8. Flower Sale

    Please consider purchasing your summer plants from a 4-H member.  All flowers come from Stockslagers Greenhouse and Garden Center.

    All clubs and committees will receive 15% of their total sales

    Here is the member order form.  As a reminder, we ask all clubs to turn in 1 order form for their entire club. Orders all due to OSU Extension Office by April 6 at the latest.

  9. 2021 Victory Gardens

    It’s time to get your hands dirty and start growing! The Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) and OSU Extension Offices are kicking off the second year of the Victory Gardens Program. Due to high demand, the program is expanding from 10 to 25 counties across the state, with 8,300 seed packets available free to the public to get people planting.
