Layne Garringer District Conservationist with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) will share the latest information on how to deal with manure on a small farm at the Monday October 26 meeting of Greene co Farm Forum. Layne works in the Greene Co. Office at 1363 Burnett Drive, Xenia. He will include information on the amounts of manure produced by different species of animals; the number of animals an acre of land can support; water quality concerns for disposal or field application of manure; summer vs. winter application challenges; and cost share programs for manure management.
The October 26 meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. and be held at Union United Methodist Church located at 393 Washington Road, Xenia. Cost of the meal is $10/person.
