Master Gardener Information and Application

Interested in becoming a Greene County Master Gardener Volunteer?

The Master Gardener Program is a way to bring classroom expertise and practical knowledge about backyard gardening to the homeowner. The class is designed to teach individuals about several different topics related to horticulture, including raising fruits and vegetables, designing perennial landscapes, and caring for your lawn, trees, and shrubs.

The program is designed to continue for one year. In February, participants will spend nine weeks gaining knowledge in the classroom for a total of 50 hours and then they are asked to contribute 50 hours of volunteer service on different gardening projects and activities in and around the county.  As they complete both their training in the classroom and their volunteer service, participants are then recognized as a certified active Master Gardener.

Applications (PDF forms are available below) for the 2012 class.

Meeting dates for the 2012 class will be every Thursday, February 2nd through April 5, 2012, from 8:30 am-3:30 pm
